Anti-Inflammatory Diet
WROC TV 8 morning showby Katrina Irwin
Original Story
Cyndi Weis from Breathe, joined us on News 8 at Sunrise to talk about reducing inflammation with the proper diet.
According to Cyndi, chronic inflammation in the body is blamed for everything from wrinkles to obesity to chronic degenerative diseases such as heart disease, Alzheimer's, certain cancers, arthritis and more. Staying away from foods that fuel the internal inflammatory fire (excess sugar, refined carbohydrates, saturated and trans fats) and adding healthy alkaline foods (good fats, fresh foods and whole grains) can help bring a chronic state of inflammation into balance.
Pulling from the research of Doctors Mark Hyman, Andrew Weil and Nicholas Perricone this four-week series guides you through an elimination diet to control chronic inflammation in the body. Led by breathe's three registered dietitians and supported by Chef Santino Cala, this premier program helps you make the changes necessary for optimal health and vitality. The series will be held on Wednesdays, Jan. 26 to Feb. 16, at breathe's Pittsford location, 19 S. Main St.
