NCCAOM Diplomat in Oriental Medicine
My first acupuncture treatment was made after a friend's recommendation who said I just had to see her acupuncturist. I made my first appointment having no idea what to expect and it is safe to say I was literally hooked by the end. I intially went to see if she could help me with some neck pain / stiffness - after a couple of treatments my neck pain was gone and I asked her what we could work on next. We worked on chronic headaches, fatigue, and everytime I had even the hint of a cold I would stop in to see her. Sometimes I made an appointment even when I didn't necessarily have anything "wrong", I just liked how I felt at the end (you feel at the end of an acupuncture treatment like the way you feel at the end of a really long savasana in yoga). That first appointment was the beginning of my journey into acupuncture and oriental medicine not only as my primary choice for how I take responsibility for my own health, but it also started me down the path into a profession that I am so happy and proud to be a part of.
