Beyond Stillness: Exploring the Depth of Savasana

with Jessica Mustafa

Have you ever secretly wished to spend the duration of your practice in Savasana? Does the normal 5-10 minutes ever truly feel like enough?

B.K.S. Iyengar once wrote, "The stresses of modern civilization are a strain on the nerves for which Savasana is the best antidote."

In this one-hour workshop, we will explore this singular pose to examine the many ways deep rest can offer us a better understanding of our mind/body's internal landscape. Find ways to adapt Savasana for your ever-changing needs with the use of props, experience different breathing and mindfulness techniques, and dive deeper into the paradox of why this pose is the easiest to do, yet most challenging asana to sustain.

About Jessica: Jessica loves using the energy of breath as a guide in each yoga class, finding steadiness and strength from child's pose to savasana. With attention to alignment and always weaving in ways to be more mindful and present, Jessica meets each student where they are at. When she's not doing yoga or meditating, you may find her in a creative writing class, traveling with her husband and three children, or in her happiest place — underneath her Cherry tree in her hammock.

Restorative for the
Soul-stice

with Theresa Kusak-Smith

Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a deeply restorative yoga practice. In our warm, candlelit Wellness Studio, you’ll be guided through gentle, supported poses designed to calm your nervous system and help you shift from “fight or flight” into a state of rest and rejuvenation.

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year and the return of the light, symbolizing hope, transformation, and new beginnings. This workshop is a chance to honor the season’s energy, release stress, and embrace balance and peace. Perfect for all levels, this is an opportunity to nurture your body, mind, and spirit as you step into this new season with intention and ease.

About Theresa: Theresa's passion for teaching originated from her passion as a student. She is a learner of all things, a constant seeker and explorer, and her natural ability to be creative and expressive allows her to consistently teach from an inspired place. She teaches 3 weekly classes, all of different styles, and this fits her personality perfectly. When Theresa isn't teaching yoga you can find her traveling, hiking, fooding with family, or reading a good book.
